We believe firmly in preventative maintenance. With each and every visit Alpine will rid your equipment of the dust and fine particles that accumulate over time. This dust makes the equipment run hotter and can lead to premature failure of one or more of the many moving and non-moving parts inside your equipment. This is a service we provide free of charge when providing any of the services listed below.

Un-Bootable Computer Rescue
If your computer won't even start up, we will come to the scene, assess the computer, and in most cases perform a repair install for you to get the computer up and working again.

Virus / Sypware / Adware Infection Rescue
We will go through every nook and cranny of your computer to find and remove the nasties which are slowing down or crashing it. This includes finding and correcting registry entries and malicious programs which have been installed without your knowledge. You will receive a full report of what was found and what was done about it, and we provide free technical support after removal.

We will install, repair, update, upgrade or replace your virus / spyware / adware detection software to ensure the highest level of safety for your computer.

Wireless Network Installation
Share your secure, high-speed internet connection everywhere inside and outside your building, up to 100 feet away from the access point - with no wires!

Alpine will do it for you, and it's easier than you think.

Existing Network Upgrade/Addition
Alpine will add your new Media Device, Network Attached Storage or computer to your existing network. We'll make sure the device is set up so that file and print sharing is connected and working properly.

High Speed Internet Installation/Troubleshooting
Are you tired of Dial-up but don't know how to get anything faster? Alpine will act as an agent with your local Broadband provider, arranging installation and configuring the service once it's installed to ensure peak performance.

If your high speed connection is down, we can walk you through troubleshooting over the phone for free, prior to making a service call.

Dial-up Service
Alpine has extensive experience with local and national Dial-up providers. We will set you up with a dial-up account which has local numbers to call, as well as an 800 number for traveling (in most cases). We will walk you through using your dial-up connection and ways to keep your computer safe while you surf.

Alpine Data Services
Data Recovery
Alpine provides expert Data Recovery Services from hard disk drives, tapes, zip disks, CD-Rom, flash cards and other storage media. Hard Drive Data Recovery services from all operating systems including Windows NT, Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows'95, Windows'98, Windows ME, MS-DOS
Level 1 : In some cases, a drive will simply have bad sectors, but can be repaired and then will operate normally. Alpine will assess the drive, and this would be the first option.

Level 2 : If your drive is has unrepairable bad sectors and is still readable, Alpine will remove it from your system and either put the contents onto a new drive, or onto a removable hard drive for you.

Level 3 : If the drive is unreadable, and the stuff on it is REALLY important to you, Alpine will arrange to send it to a clean recovery facility. The facility will take the platters out of the drive, read the platters for recoverable files, and put on a new drive or burn them to dvds, depending on your preference.

Data Erase
If you are getting rid of an old computer, even one that is "broken" you will want to make sure that any personal information has been wiped from the hard drives.
Alpine does the following to ensure your privacy is protected:
Wipe the hard drive clean — so nothing can read what was on it before.
Try data recovery to ensure that the data is truly gone.

Insurance Damage Estimate
Alpine can assess damages caused to computers and related equipment to ensure that your insurance company has an accurate picture of your loss.
You will receive a complete written assessment of the damages, based on market prices for parts and our labor rates. The cost of the assessment is usually covered in the insurance claim

Alpine conducts personalized one-on-one training sessions to get you comfortable with all aspects of your computer. Call us to enquire about times and availability. We will schedule a time to come to your home and bring you up to speed so you are comfortable with your computer.

This class covers the gamut - from loading your MP3 player with your favorite tracks, to the pros and cons of different file types, to copyright considerations. Whether you are just starting to put your music collection on your computer, or you are mixing your own electronic songs and burning them to cd or streaming them to the internet, you pick the direction the class takes, depending on your interests.

Digital Photo 101
If you have a digital camera and aren't quite sure what to do with the pictures, this class is for you. We cover picture management, how to print a picture if you don't have a printer (it's possible!), how to send pictures via email, and ways of organizing and saving your digital photo library. We also cover your particular camera's methods for sending photos to your computer, and how you can edit the pictures once they're on your computer.

Operating System
If you are using Windows 95 or 98, it's time to upgrade.
Alpine will install a new operating system on your computer and transfer all personal documents you want to keep
We will help you decide what operating system will work for you.
Once we have the operating system installed, we will apply the latest patches and ensure that your personal documents are loaded.
You will get a tutorial on getting the most out of your new operating system.

Antivirus
Alpine installs antivirus software.
Typically, an unprotected PC is an infected PC. We will make sure your computer is protected.
After installation, Alpine will load it with the most recent updates.
You will get a tutorial on how Antivirus software works.

Antispyware
Alpine installs antispyware software.
Antispyware software is built to prevent spy programs from running on your computer, such as keyloggers.
We will set up the software and load it with the most recent updates.

Hard Drive Install
Alpine will assess your current space needs, and if we determine that you need a new hard drive, we’ll install and configure a new drive which you can use to store space intensive files like movies and music.

These drives are a must for any computer. If yours is dead, or if you don't have one, Alpine will install a CD/CD-R/CD-RW/DVD/DVD-R drive in your computer, test it to make sure it works, and go over the operating basics with you.
